Kevin Mengers
Kevin Mengers, President & Senior Sales Associate with Advanced Tree Care Inc., has been an ISA Certified Arborist for 12 years, has worked in the tree service trade for 18 years and has been caring for landscapes for 23 years. He is an ISA Certified Tree Worker, an ISA/PNW Certified Tree Risk Assessor, an MNR Accredited Butternut Health Assessor and an Arboriculture Canada Training & Education Certified Risk Assessor, Rescue Technician, Climber Technician, Rigger Technician and Faller Technician.
He began working with trees in 1994 starting in the lowest ranks and eventually becoming a climbing tree worker. His desire to develop skill and talent found him under the mentorship of some of Ontario’s best Arborists. These Mentors helped him develop talent as a climbing Arborist that gave him the opportunity to be an Instructor of Arborist Apprentices at Humber College for 5 years.
Kevin’s devotion to trees and a principled approach to providing the best care possible have been the grounds for continued career development through a variety of specialized training and education ventures. He is well accredited to help clients care for their trees with the most current research, practices and safety policies.
Advanced Tree Care Inc. clients have come to appreciate his friendly demeanor, expert knowledge and his approach to business integrity. The cornerstones of his relationships with clients are a willingness to share, serve and support with the final goal to preserve and enhance the trees that our clients invest their time and devotion in.
With a focus on a balanced life he enjoys the opportunities to go tobogganing, pond skating, trips to the zoo and long woodland walks with his family. Occasionally he appreciates the rare break to ride motorcycles.
Andrew Thuro
Andrew Thuro, Sales Associate & Operations Supervisor at Advanced Tree Care Inc., has been an ISA Certified Arborist for 12 years and has been employed in the care of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants for the past two decades.
A true outdoorsman, Andrew thrives in the open air much like the trees he cares for. He first discovered his passion for pruning and caring for trees while working at a nursery in Calgary. In 1994 he attended Humber College, studying as a Landscape Technician and as an Arborist in the Arboriculture Certificate Program.
With an eye for aesthetic, and an affinity for perfection, Andrew excels at fine pruning; enhancing the natural features and beauty of his clients’ trees and shrubs. He enjoys the artistry required to transform valued trees and shrubs into beautiful, safe and healthy specimen that contribute to the aesthetic of an ornamental landscape and the urban ecosystem.
His background in horticulture, including ornamental shrubs and perennials, provides additional expertise that complements the arborist perspective. He is able to provide his clients with tree and shrub care that enhances these ornamental plants and ultimately brings great value to their landscape investment.
Andrew’s diverse skill and experience have been valuable assets since he joined the Advanced Tree Care team early 2010. These skills have provided other team members with a new source of training and knowledge and Andrew is recognized as a professional Mentor within the team.
Andrew is also dedicated to a balanced lifestyle and enjoys spending time with his wife Teresa and their four legged companion Abbey. They enjoy snow mobiles, ice fishing, skiing & snowboarding, visiting family abroad and most recently developed an avid interest in sailing.
Ryan Knoll
Ryan Knoll is a 2nd year Arborist Apprentice with Advanced Tree Care Inc. He studied Arboriculture in the Certificate Program at Humber College and has since returned to complete these studies as a formal Apprentice. His career has always brought him to the service sector in which his natural affinity to serve and support clientele can be fully appreciated.
He joined the Advanced Tree Care Team in the summer of 2010 and has proven to have a keen desire to learn the skills and knowledge his Mentors are offering to share. Friendly and well spoken he is devoted to customer satisfaction and is happy to answer question or find the answers from Mentors on behalf of our clients.
Ryan has a daughter to which he devotes much of his spare time and travels great distances to spend quality time with. He enjoys the outdoors and hopes to instill appreciation for the outdoors in his daughter.
Jake Ivens
Jake Ivens has worked for Advanced Tree Care Inc. for 4 summer seasons thus far. He studies Music at Guelph University and hopes he might one day be a High School Music teacher. He provides the Arborists at Advanced Tree Care with ground support and a very special kind of dry humor. Hard working and friendly his perennial employment at Advanced Tree Care is a testament to his work ethic and strong character.
Jake has been described as an Audiophile and indeed Music occupies much of his free time. He understands the importance of family and enjoys each and every weekend in the summer visiting with friends and family at his cottage in the Kawarthas.
